IN MEMORIAM

Statement From Citizens State Bank of Loyal on the Passing of President Travis Holt

It is with profound sadness that the Board of Directors announces the passing of our President and CEO, Travis Holt on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
Travis joined Citizens State Bank of Loyal in 2002 as an investment officer and ag business planner. His role was to help farms write business plans and to expand the Bank’s retail investment program. Under the direction of former President, Gary Weirauch, Travis grew quickly within the bank, ultimately being promoted to President and CEO in 2010.
Travis served the Bank with exceptional vision, integrity and unwavering commitment. His leadership was marked by a genuine concern for the Bank and the Bank’s customers. Travis had a steadfast belief in community banking and provided constant mentorship for the employees who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Travis’ impact extends far beyond the walls of our financial institution. The highlight of Travis’ role at the Bank was working with its customers. He believed that community bankers have a unique role in their communities, that they are often called upon to give advice on a wide range of financial topics. Whether it was assisting in retirement planning, farm expansion, business planning, or helping individuals with family finances and solving financial problems, Travis took the time needed to meet personally with any customer who sought his help.
The Board of Directors has implemented the Bank’s leadership succession plan, which Travis and the Board had previously approved. The Board has utmost confidence in Joshua Burgess, CEO and President, in the entire management team, and in all of the staff. The continued financial strength of the Bank, the ongoing commitment to the customers and communities that the Bank serves, and the genuine concern for the employees who faithfully serve the Bank, will be Travis’ legacy.
